This week, I took some pictures in New Haven of activities that I was doing such as going to the movie theaters, walking around campus, and looking at stuff in my dorm.
Starting from the top, I do like how close you are and the composition is excellent. It looks like the flash went off on the camera though creating a harsh flat frontal light which is not complementary. Next one is fine I might of moved slightly to the left to avoid to the light background but it is clean and sharp.
This one is not a macro per se we define macro is being within an inch or two of your subject.
I generally don't like pictures of manufactured things but in this case you have abstracted the bracelet enough showing us color line and light on it in a way that is more abstract and not literal… Therefore it's good. The next one after that is a bit more literal where you try to show the turtle design at the edge of it and it's out of focus to.
The popcorn doesn't do it for me… it's through glass, the light is not as well seen as some of the others.
On the last shot, watch for backgrounds that are light and include sky. See how the light in the upper left corner weakens the shot overall?
