Important goals to understand for this assignment

Hi class...

I just wanted to emphasize the important goals for this assignment.....

-Using line, light and geometry, create an abstract composition that has a focal point and that the focal point is the source of light in the image...

So what does that mean????

-Move in to your subject... get closer now.. yes, even closer.  Don't show me the whole object, whether it is a building or a bench.  Rather use the building to discover design in small parts of it. 

-Where is the light?  focus on that. 

-How do the lines in the shot form an interesting composition?

-Eliminate the sky.. the light of the sky is too strong and it wrecks the shot.

-Images of nature are coming later... just focus on geometry and light this week.

-Shoot 50 to get 6-10 (at a minimum)

Finally... What NOT to do... this is too dull... notice the sky and how it wrecks the shot.  Notice the lack of focal point... notice how far away the shot is....
